Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Pays the insured in the event of death or dismemberment directly caused by an accident and within a certain amount of time following the accident. Has restrictions and exclusions that make it less likely to pay out.

Dismemberment

In accidental death and dismemberment or other life and accident insurance, typically refers to the loss of sight, speech, hearing, hands, feet, or limbs. Loss of one part (member) of a pair - such as one hand or sight in one eye - generally results in payment of 50 percent of the full dismemberment benefit.
